What is Pedal Slot Car and How Does It Work?

This system is an innovative simulation that takes the familiar slot car logic and converts the energy source into human power. Participants sit on specialized stationary bikes integrated into the racing track. Once the pedals start spinning, the kinetic energy produced is instantly converted into electrical energy and transmitted to the model cars on the track. In other words, there is no gas pedal, only effort! The process works as follows:

• Start and effort: From the moment the start is given, racers push the pedals. The pedaling speed (RPM) directly determines the speed of the car on the track. The one who pedals faster takes the lead.
• Cornering strategy: Just like in real racing, speed alone isn't enough. When approaching sharp turns, the player must reduce their pedaling tempo. Otherwise, the car may spin out due to centrifugal force, causing the racer to lose time.
• Competition and tracking: The system allows multiple people (typically 2 or 4) to race at the same time. Thanks to digital counters or screens on the track, lap counts and leadership status can be tracked in real-time.

Technical Details and Setup

The Pedal-Powered Slot Car activity offers flexible solutions based on the size of the venue and the format of the event. Our system, which can operate smoothly in both indoor and outdoor areas, has the following technical requirements:

• Track options: Depending on your event space, 2-way (duel) or 4-way (group race) track setups can be installed. Thanks to its modular structure, the track length can be extended up to 21 meters.
• Space requirements: For a comfortable placement of the bikes and the track, and for spectators to follow along easily, an average flat surface of 3x4 meters or larger is sufficient.
• Equipment: We provide the professional racing track, durable 1/32 scale model cars, stationary bikes with a special converter system, and a lap counter system.
• Power Source: Although the system's core operation is human-powered, a standard 220V outlet connection may be required for digital counters and any screen integrations.
